Premiere set to only Work on Windows 10 and recent Mac O/S

This Adobe blog post, on 24th August, says that future versions of Adobe Premiere and other applications will not support Windows 7, Windows 8 or early versions of Windows 10:

It does not make clear whether this will be with the version that Adobe will be previewing today or just sometime in the future.

When this happens it does not mean you won’t be able to use Premiere if on Windows 7, it just means you will have to stick with an old version rather than using the latest one.

All software makers will do this sooner or later although the only major program that only works on Windows 10 and not Windows 7 or 8, so far is Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve.

In the Article they say Microsoft stopped “mainstream support” for Windows 7 in 2015 although this just means they stopped making major updates for Windows 7, they are still doing security updates until 2020.
